Winter on the Farm
It’s been a relatively mild winter so far here at Oldfields Farm, but we’ve had a few sharp frosts recently to remind ourselves of the lovely surrounding countryside on those crisp clear mornings.
Both Shire horses in our top field are in foal and we’re looking forward to their Spring births to follow on from last year’s arrival.
There’s been plenty of cutting back to do as our flower beds and shrubs have come on greatly over the past 12 months, and we’ll need to get the tree surgeon out before the Spring arrives.
There’s plenty of bird life on the farm at present, and filling the bird feeders is currently a daily exercise. It’s great that the days are getting longer now and it won’t be long before the daffodils spring forth.
