V.I.Pets

Do you want to stay somewhere that dogs are tolerated or somewhere they are welcomed with open arms? At Oldfields Farm we LOVE dogs. When you arrive we’ll show you straight to our large, private, enclosed garden as we know how important it is for dogs to have a wee and stretch their legs after a long journey. In the cottage there will be locally made dog treats, a cosy throw on the sofa so everyone can cuddle up together, food and water bowls, compostable poo bags and towels for wiping muddy paws. We also have an indoor doggy shower room with hot water so you can wash off after muddy walkies. And when it’s hot, we have a paddling pool for cooling off. As Handel’s Muse is a bijou cottage it can comfortably accommodate two dogs for an additional charge of £10 for dogs per week. This extra charge allows us to provide you with a special welcome pack, including treats by Marge & Mabel’s Handmade Dog Treats, as well as to pay for additional cleaning required. Please let us know when booking if your V.I.Pet has any dietary requirements so we can personalise their welcome pack. There is a good selection of maps and booklets with details of dog friendly walks/pubs and we are happy to recommend our favourites. V.I.Pets are very welcome on the sofa in the living room but we kindly ask that they don’t sleep on the bed. We have enough room for you to bring their own beds or we can provide bedding for you, just let us know when you book. We also have space to store any travel crates. V.I.Pets are free to go anywhere within the cottage and the enclosed garden but we do ask that dogs remain on a lead in the rest of the grounds so as not to disturb local wildlife, pet cats as well as our chickens. Whilst the chickens do stay in their own run they are a bit nervous so over excited dogs will give them a fright. All pets must be fully vaccinated and wormed or have a suitable alternative. We are unable to accept puppies younger than 9 months old and all dogs must not be left alone unless by prior agreement. Any damage or breakages will be deducted from your £100 good housekeeping deposit.

COVID-19 Update

As you are probably aware, all holiday cottages in the UK are currently closed due to Covid-19. The Government is aiming to allow them to re-open on 4th July. Unfortunately, we have made the incredibly difficult decision not to re-open before Autumn 2020, at the earliest. Oldfields Farm is also home to my parents who are both over 70 and have pre-existing medical conditions that have meant they are having to shield. I am also currently pregnant with our baby due in early September. As such, I am sorry to say that we are not taking any bookings for before the end of October and possibly after this date. We will constantly revaluate this decision based on the information available to us. I’m very sorry to do this, especially as I think everyone could do with a holiday this year, but I hope you understand that the health of my family must come first at this time.
